Merge Soccer League

Soccer Merge (2020) is an idle merge mobile game developed by The Breach Studios.

 

My role: Game designer

Sinopsis

In this game, the user is the owner and trainer of a football club. His job is to increase the power of the team and improve the sports city of the club.
The user has to objective to be strong enough to beat the other teams on football matches and scale-up in the global online ranking.

Mechanics

The user has to fuse football players to increase his earnings and his power. The profits are used to buy more players or to improve the Sports city to get passive bonuses.
With a lot of power, the user will be able to win football matches against other teams. Winning leagues give extra earnings.
Finally, as more money accumulates the user, the higher he will be on the online ranking.

My job

I was one of the game designers of the game.

I helped to balance the game economy. I defined and programed the mathematic formulas of the game. Using a combination of polynomial equations and a custom number class made by the programmers, the game can get astronomical numbers.

I designed new features for the game making the complete loop: proposing an idea, prototyping it with Adobe XD, improving the UI working together with the artists, solving problems with the implementation working together with the programmers, debugging the pre-release version and cheking the live version.

I made telemetry data analysis. I designed part of the system to track all the users' actions. I filtered the data and made the correspondent graphics with Excel to find what improvements need to be made to the game.

Finally, I managed the Jira tasks to maintain some control and order with the unfinished tasks and the bug information given by the QA team.
